Artist’s Statement:
A playful, colourful spiritual master is shown controlling water and fire, yet he is just a puppet guided by a modern man. The subject is the famous actor Leo Luo Yunxi, depicted dressed for a Wuxia role (martial arts hero) and also in his normal attire.
It represents how we as mere mortals can still cultivate our own character as something wonderful. We have the freedom and potential to show up to ourselves, and to others, as powerful and graceful heroes.
