23 Dec Some of the amazing Prayer Flags were made by groups of artists in Sydney.
Just a few words from Estelle Rozinski in Sydney who could not make it on Sunday and sent amazing Prayer Flags that were hung around the stage in image left, made by the women in the groups mentioned below:
“As Sydney comes to terms with last week’s horrible events, our work and our collective presence here takes on new meaning. Now is the time for all of us to listen, to hear and to educate ourselves in events past and present.
The Ngala Nanga Mai pARenT group is a group of Aboriginal women from the la Perouse area in Sydney, they are committed to making a difference to themselves, their families and the community. The smARTspace artists have shown in galleries as part of the Shirmadness Jewish Music Festival,(launching in Melbourne 6th September 2015). These 2 groups have worked and exhibitied their work collaboratively and independently.
They are a testament and a celebration of what can happen with committment, time and a good ear”.
